For the following areas... Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA... Chesapeake Bay from North Beach to Drum Point MD... Patuxent River to Broomes Island MD... Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth Island... At 610 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Solomons Island, moving east at 35 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 48 knots, and large hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds and hail. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Locations impacted include... Cuckold Creek, Town Creek, Hooper Island Light, Drum Point, Honga River, Calvert Cliffs, and Solomons Island.
