For the following areas... Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA... Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth Island... Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA... At 744 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located near Honga River, moving east at 30 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Locations impacted include... Hooper Island Light, Piney Point, Deep Hole, Mouth Of The Potomac River, Nanticoke River Mouth, Southwest Middle Grounds, Point Lookout, Tall Timbers, Saint George Island, Honga River, Fishing Bay, Point No Point, The Targets, Richland Point Buoy, Bivalve, and Deal Island.
