SMWLWX The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a * Special Marine Warning for... Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA... Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth Island... * Until 730 PM EDT. * At 629 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Hooper Island Light to near Saint Marys River, moving east at 30 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots and large hail. SOURCE...Buoy. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds and hail. * Locations impacted include... Ewell, Tangier Sound, Crisfield, Deep Hole, Fishing Bay, Point No Point, The Targets, Nanticoke River Mouth, Southwest Middle Grounds, and Deal Island.
