For the following areas... Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA... Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD... At 447 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 12 nm southwest of Potomac Creek, moving east at 30 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots and large hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds and hail. Locations impacted include... Breton Bay, Potomac Creek, Saint Clements Bay, Maryland Point, Nanjemoy Creek, Port Tobacco River, Cobb Island, Swan Point, Coltons Point, Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Wicomico River, Popes Creek, Westmoreland State Park, Fairview Beach, Colonial Beach, and Dahlgren.
