Coastal Waters from Stake Island LA to Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River from 20 to 60 nm... * Until 1045 PM CDT. * At 942 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts was located 44 nm southeast of Southwest Pass Of the Mississippi River, moving south at 30 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * The cluster of severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.
