Open waters of Lake Michigan from Rock Island Passage to Sturgeon Bay... * Until 1030 PM CDT. * At 927 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line from 13 NM southeast of Detroit Island to 8 NM east of Whitefish Point, moving east at 55 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * This strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
