What the bulletin says to do

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, large hail, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain are possible with these storms. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

For the following areas... Nearshore Waters from Grand Haven to Manistee MI... Open Waters from Whitehall to Manistee MI... At 124 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 16 nm east of Kewaunee Pierhead Light to 16 nm east of Two Creeks to Rawley Point Light, moving southeast at 45 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots and large hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage. Locations impacted include... Ludington Light and Little Sable Point Light.
