A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central New York...and the adjacent waters of Lake Ontario. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately.

For the following areas... Lake Ontario from Mexico Bay to the Saint Lawrence River The Saint Lawrence River from Cape Vincent to Alexandria Bay... At 831 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Tibbets Point, or 33 nm north of Mexico Bay, moving east at 25 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and large hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage. Locations impacted include... Pillar Point, Alexandria Bay, Mexico Bay, Southwick Beach, Henderson Harbor, Wellesley Island, Westcott Beach, Chaumont Bay, Selkirk Beach, Stony Point, Clayton, Sandy Island Beach, Black River Bay, Tibbets Point, Sackets Harbor, North Pond, St. Lawrence River, and Cape Vincent.
