Ontonagon to Upper Entrance of Portage Canal MI... At 843 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 24 nm southwest of The Lower Entrance of Portage Canal, or 57 nm southeast of The Western Lake Superior Buoy, moving southeast at 70 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and large hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage. The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
