For the following areas... Lake Superior East of a line from Manitou Island to Marquette MI and West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian Border Beyond 5NM from shore... At 226 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 15 nm northeast of Laughing Whitefish Point, or 15 nm northwest of Grand Island, moving east at 40 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
