Bulletin details
Strong southeasterly winds are expected to increase this morning and continue through this evening before diminishing late tonight. The strongest winds are expected between 8 AM and 6 PM today. Periods of rain will accompany the strong winds through much of the day. South and West Anchorage (along Turnagain Arm): Winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph. Isolated gusts to 50 mph possible. Anchorage Hillside: Winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 40 to 55 mph. Anchorage Bowl: Winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 25 to 35 mph. Turnagain Arm Portage to Indian: Winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph. Please use caution if driving or towing a high profile vehicle, or if planning any outdoor activities with easily lofted objects.
