Bulletin details
The latest camera imagery and water level data from inside the basin showed a slight drop in water level and this is indicating that water has started to flow over the top of the ice dam a short time ago. Now is the time to finalize your flood preparation for potential flooding impacts along the Mendenhall Lake and River. In the past it has taken up to 6 days for a release to start. The NWS will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed including updating this statement within the next 8 hours so check back on this evolving situation.
