What is happening
Water levels are expected to rise to 1 to 1.5 feet above the normal high tide line around the Kotzebue Sound and Chukchi Sea Coast around late Sunday, peaking overnight and diminishing rapidly on Monday morning due to gusty northwesterly winds between 25 & 35 mph behind the cold front that has moved through.
