Bulletin details

At 255 PM MST, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 11 miles southwest of Pine Mountain to near Tonto Basin to 8 miles south of Globe. Movement was southwest at 10 mph. Conditions are becoming more favorable for the development of additional thunderstorms. Some storms may become strong to severe. Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible. Locations impacted include... Scottsdale, Globe, Superior, Hayden, Christmas, Sugarloaf Mountain, New River, Sycamore Creek, Ballantine Trailhead, Roosevelt, Round Valley, Sunflower, Cave Creek, San Carlos, Carefree, Miami, Cutter, Roosevelt Dam, Top-Of-The-World, and Canyon Lake. This includes the following highways... AZ Interstate 17 between mile markers 231 and 239. US Highway 60 between mile markers 219 and 282. AZ Route 87 between mile markers 197 and 229. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
