What the bulletin says to do

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. If on or near Lake Powell, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

At 1255 AM MST /155 AM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking thunderstorms with gusty winds over far northern Coconino County, from around Page and Lake Powell west to near Fredonia, moving west at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Page, LeChee, Bitter Springs, Page Municipal Airport, Trapeze Cove, Antelope Point Marina, Coppermine, Glen Canyon Dam, Cliff Dwellers, Jacob Lake, Marble Canyon Airport, Warm Springs Canyon, Big Springs Cabin Site, Sand Hill Petroglyphs, House Rock, White Pocket, Jackass Canyon, The Wave and Marble Canyon. This includes the following highways... State Route 389 near mile marker 32. U.S. Highway 89 between mile markers 510 and 556. State Route 67 between mile markers 580 and 593. the Colorado River between river miles 0 and 33. U.S. Highway 89A between mile markers 524 and 612. State Route 98 between mile markers 548 and 549. This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds... Jacob Lake Campground, Lee's Ferry Campground, Wahweap Campground, Page Lake Powell Campground, Paria Beach Camp Site, Opposite Cathedral Camp Site, Cathedral Wash Camp Site, Ferry Swale Camp Site, Twin Stripes Camp Site and Lees Ferry Camp Site.
