At 1259 AM MST, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong thunderstorms near Munds Park, or 14 miles northeast of Sedona, moving northeast at 20 mph. These storms are impacting portions of Interstate 17 and State Route 89A. HAZARD...Heavy rainfall, wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Flagstaff, Sedona, Mormon Mountain, Munds Park, Mountainaire, Kachina Village, Pine Flats, Schnebly Hill Overlook, Oak Creek Vista Overlook, Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, Walnut Canyon National Monument and Slide Rock State Park. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between mile markers 194 and 199. Interstate 17 between mile markers 311 and 339. State Route 179 near mile marker 313. Route 66 between mile markers 194 and 198. State Route 89A between mile markers 373 and 398. Highway 180 near mile marker 217. This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds...
