At 1259 AM MST, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong thunderstorms near Munds Park, or 14 miles northeast of Sedona, moving northeast at 20 mph. These storms are impacting portions of Interstate 17 and State Route 89A. HAZARD...Heavy rainfall, wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Flagstaff, Sedona, Mormon Mountain, Munds Park, Mountainaire, Kachina Village, Pine Flats, Schnebly Hill Overlook, Oak Creek Vista Overlook, Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, Walnut Canyon National Monument and Slide Rock State Park.
