At 509 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles south of Plaster City. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary. Strong, gusty winds will be capable of producing areas of blowing dust with reduced visibilities below 5 miles. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Imperial County. This includes the following highways... CA Interstate 8 between mile markers 15 and 18. CA Route 98 between mile markers 4 and 19.
