What the bulletin says to do
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. This thunderstorm is producing minor accumulations of hail, which will make driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must travel, be aware of rapidly changing road conditions.

At 636 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 12 miles southwest of Cheyenne Wells to 4 miles southeast of Kit Carson. Movement was southeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Kit Carson around 640 PM MDT. This includes Highway 385 between mile markers 136 and 141.
