Bulletin details

At 516 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near La Veta, or 39 miles northwest of Trinidad, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... La Veta, La Veta Pass, Spanish Peaks, Spring Burn Scar north of Highway 160, Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Huerfano county, Indian Creek on the southeastern Spring Burn Scar, and northeastern Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Costilla county.
