At 404 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Howard, or 56 miles southwest of Colorado Springs, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, brief hail up to half inch, and locally heavy rainfall. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Heavy rainfall could cause ponding of water on paved road surfaces, washouts on dirt roads, and quick runoff causing high flows in area creeks, streams and normally dry washouts. Locations impacted include... Waugh Mountain.
