Bulletin details

At 251 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near San Luis, or 34 miles southeast of San Luis Valley Airport. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph, brief half inch hail, and locally heavy rainfall. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Torrential rainfall may cause minor wash outs and ponding of water on area roads. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Costilla and western Las Animas Counties.
