If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in Pueblo.

At 539 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles northeast of La Veta to 8 miles west of Stonewall. Movement was northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Walsenburg, La Veta, Spanish Peaks, Cuchara, Cuchara Pass, and southeastern Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Huerfano county.
