At 611 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Monsey to Oradell to Midtown Manhattan to The Verrazano Narrows Bridge to Keansburg to Holmdel. Movement was northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Stamford, Valley Stream, Long Beach, Glen Cove, Garden City, Lynbrook, Mineola, Woodmere, Westbury, Great Neck, Oyster Bay, Greenwich, Hempstead, Elmont, and Oceanside.
