Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. Persons participating in outdoor activities should seek sturdy shelter until these storms pass. Open shelters found in parks, beaches, or golf courses offer no protection from the dangers of lightning.

At 620 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking strong thunderstorms capable of producing a funnel cloud along a line extending from 13 miles southwest of Intersection Alligator Alley And Miami Canal to near Dade-Collier Training Airport to 7 miles northwest of Wilderness Waterway. Movement was southeast at 5 mph. HAZARD...Funnel clouds, wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Funnel clouds occasionally touch down and produce tornadoes or waterspouts. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Wilderness Waterway, Loop Road Ee Center, Dade-Collier Training Airport, Fortymile Bend, and Big Cypress National Preserve.
