If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for central Illinois.

At 1109 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Delavan, or 13 miles southeast of Pekin, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Tremont, Delavan, South Pekin, Hopedale, Emden, Armington, and Dillon. This includes Interstate 155 between mile markers 6 and 23.
