At 159 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Staffordsville, or over Paintsville, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Torrential rainfall, wind gusts up to 40 mph, and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Paintsville, Prestonsburg, Oaklawn Estates, Fitz, Davella, Oil Springs, Lancer, Meally, Prince, Collista, West Van Lear, Dotson, Williamsport, Offutt, Blue River, Buffalo, Swamp Branch, Riceville, Auxier, and Cliff. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS... Kentucky Highway 3 in Floyd County between mile markers 1 and 4. Kentucky Highway 3 in Johnson County Kentucky Highway 3 in Martin County between mile markers 1 and 6. U.S. Highway 23 in Floyd County between mile markers 14 and 21. U.S. Highway 23 in Johnson County between mile markers 0 and 14.
