At 242 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Ecru, or near Pontotoc, moving east at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Tupelo, Pontotoc, Trace State Park, Ecru, Troy, Furrs, Sherman, Algoma, Nixon, Hortontown, Endville, Belden, Cherry Creek, Chiwapa, Birmingham, Chesterville, Springville, Rough Edge, and Bissell. This includes Interstate 22 in Mississipppi between mile markers 77 and 82.
