At 120 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking cluster of showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds along a line extending from 11 miles south of Elon to 8 miles northwest of Siler City to 8 miles west of Asheboro. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Chapel Hill, Asheboro, Pittsboro, North Carolina Zoo, Siler City, Carrboro, Liberty, Ramseur, Franklinville, and Staley. This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 70 and 79.
