At 338 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Willard to near Penderlea to 6 miles southwest of Harrells. Movement was south at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and torrential rainfall. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Burgaw, Rowan, Penderlea, Point Caswell, Murray Town, Rooks, Malpass Corner, Willard, Currie, Wards Corner, St. Helena, Atkinson, Watha, and Pender Memorial Hospital. This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 389 and 404.
