At 1038 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a waterspout 8 miles southwest of Cape Lookout Lighthouse, or 10 miles southwest of Harkers Island, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Harkers Island, Marshallberg, Cape Lookout Lighthouse, and Gloucester.
