SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects....

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

At 152 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles south of Wake Forest to near Raleigh. Movement was east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Raleigh, Garner, Zebulon, Knightdale, Wendell, Rolesville, Middlesex, Pilot, and Lake Wheeler. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 296 and 305. Interstate 440 between Mile Markers 8 and 16. Interstate 540 between Mile Markers 15 and 24. NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 20 and 26.
