At 302 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a waterspout near Rodanthe, or 13 miles southeast of Stumpy Point, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Salvo, Waves, Rodanthe, and Hatteras Island Fishing Pier.
