At 514 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near North Masonboro Island to near Longs. Movement was southeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs...

What the bulletin says to do

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for southeastern North Carolina...and northeastern South Carolina.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... North Myrtle Beach, Oak Island, Carolina Beach, Shallotte, Sunset Beach, Kure Beach, Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Caswell Beach, Bald Head Island, South Masonboro Island, Snows Cut, Ocean Crest Pier, Little River, North Myrtle Beach Airport, Iredell, Boiling Spring Lakes, St. James, Carolina Shores, and Southport.
