Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

At 217 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Bailey, or 15 miles southwest of Nashville, moving east at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Wilson, Elm City, Bailey, Sharpsburg, Middlesex, Sims, Buckhorn Reservoir, Tar River Reservoir, and New Hope. This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 127 and 116. NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 25 and 50.
