At 507 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Chapanoke, or 7 miles west of Elizabeth City, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. This strong thunderstorm will be near... Elizabeth City around 510 PM EDT. Morgans Corner around 520 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Burnt Mills, Snowden, Pierceville, Parkville, Tar Corner, Gregory, Sharon, Okisko, Pasquotank, and Spences Corner.
