At 550 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Chapanoke, or near Elizabeth City, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and frequent lightning. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes. This strong thunderstorm will be near... Elizabeth City around 555 PM EDT. Elizabeth City State University and Nixonton around 600 PM EDT. Weeksville around 610 PM EDT. Whitehall Shores around 615 PM EDT. Shiloh around 620 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Bob White Fork, Belcross, Rabbit Corner, Symonds Creek, Listers Corner, Woodville, Parkville, Glen Cove, Okisko, and Forestburg.
