At 522 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Seagrove, or near the North Carolina Zoo, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... North Carolina Zoo, Biscoe, Seagrove, Robbins, Star, Candor, Steeds, Eagle Springs, and Seven Lakes. This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 39 and 67.
