What the bulletin says to do
Boaters on the open water and those camping outdoors are especially vulnerable to the dangers of lightning. Seek harbor immediately and find safe shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. If on or near Kerr Lake, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Norlina, Tungsten, Satterwhite Point Marina, Drewry, Steele Creek Marina & Campground, Bullocksville, Kerr Lake, Wise, and John H Kerr Reservoir. This includes Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 223 and 233.
