At 104 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Cary, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Raleigh, Cary, Wake Forest, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Zebulon, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, and Knightdale. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 287 and 309. Interstate 440 between Mile Markers 1 and 16. Interstate 540 between Mile Markers 11 and 24. US 1 between Mile Markers 88 and 101. NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 20 and 21.
