At 453 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Whitney Lake, or 19 miles west of Chadron, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Chadron, Crawford, Whitney, Roberts Trailhead Campground, Whitney Lake, Soldier Creek Campground, Red Cloud Campground, Fort Robinson State Park, Chadron Municipal Airport, Chadron State Park, Belmont, Dawes County Fairgrounds, and Chadron State Park Campground.
