If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in North Platte.

At 853 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Whitman, or 30 miles west of Mullen, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Whitman, Carr Lake, Duluth, Hecla, and Weir. This includes the following highways... Highway 2 between mile markers 147 and 181. Highway 61 near mile marker 156, and between mile markers 164 and 169.
