At 142 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Newport, or 7 miles northeast of Bassett, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Bassett, Atkinson, Stuart, Newport, and Pony Lake. This includes the following highways... Highway 183 between mile markers 183 and 188. Highway 20 between mile markers 260 and 297.
