At 603 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Sands Point to Manhasset to near Little Neck to Valley Stream to Rockaway Beach to 6 miles northeast of Sandy Hook. Movement was east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Islip, Jamaica, Brentwood, Levittown, Freeport, Valley Stream, Commack, Long Beach, Huntington Station, Centereach, Deer Park, Lindenhurst, Glen Cove, Plainview, and Garden City.
