At 149 PM AST, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Santo Domingo, or near Penuelas, moving west at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. What the bulletin says to do
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph. If a funnel cloud is spotted move indoors and report your sighting to the National Weather Service. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

At 149 PM AST, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Santo Domingo, or near Penuelas, moving west at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Pea size hail and funnel cloud formation is possible. Frequent lightning may initiate wildfires in the area. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Ponce, Yauco, Adjuntas, Villalba, Guayanilla, Guanica, Sabana Grande, Penuelas, Juana Diaz, Coto Laurel, Palomas, Guayabal, Santo Domingo, Potala Pastillo, Aguilita, Capitanejo, Luis Llorens Torres, Tallaboa Alta, Magas Arriba, and Liborio Negron Torres.
