Bulletin details
According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, a 4.8 earthquake occurred about 131 miles northwest of Mona Island (at the Dominican Republic) at 1:01 AM AST. There is NO TSUNAMI THREAT from this earthquake. Based on location and magnitude the earthquake was not sufficient to generate a tsunami damaging to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Some of these areas may experience non- damaging sea level changes.
