At 913 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Joanna, or 12 miles southeast of Laurens, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Newberry, Whitmire, Newberry College, Newberry County Airport, Silverstreet, Newberry County Detention Center, Bush River Fire Station, Belfast Wildlife Management Area, Enoree Ranger District Office, and Kinards. This includes Interstate 26 between mile markers 62 and 73.
