At 607 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong thunderstorms extending from 9 miles north of Firesteel to 20 miles south of Lantry, or extending from 11 miles northwest of Timber Lake to 20 miles south of Lantry, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail....
What the bulletin says to do
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. If on or near Lake Oahe, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

At 607 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong thunderstorms extending from 9 miles north of Firesteel to 20 miles south of Lantry, or extending from 11 miles northwest of Timber Lake to 20 miles south of Lantry, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. The strong thunderstorms will be near... Firesteel, Lantry and Bear Creek around 610 PM MDT. Green Grass, Eagle Butte and Timber Lake around 615 PM MDT. Little Moreau Rec Area around 620 PM MDT. Parade around 625 PM MDT. Glencross around 630 PM MDT. Other locations impacted by these strong thunderstorms include Cheyenne River Reservation and Lake Oahe.
