Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for east Tennessee...and southwestern Virginia.

At 300 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Tazewell, or 13 miles southeast of Middlesboro, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Morristown, Rogersville, Sneedville, Bean Station, Tazewell, Russellville, Howard Quarter, Evanston, Treadway, and Mooresburg.
