At 409 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles north of Umbarger, or 10 miles northwest of Canyon, moving south at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Amarillo, Canyon, Umbarger, Mescalero Park, Wildorado, and Bushland. This includes the following highways... Interstate 27 between mile markers 104 and 118. Interstate 40 between mile markers 36 and 64.
