At 514 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over South Jordan, or 8 miles west of Sandy, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, Murray, Park City, West Jordan, Taylorsville, South Jordan, Draper, Riverton, Cottonwood Heights, Midvale, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Herriman, Bluffdale, Summit Park, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Millcreek, and Kearns. This includes the following highways... Interstate 15 between mile markers 289 and 304. Interstate 80 in Utah between mile markers 123 and 151. US Route 40 between mile markers 0 and 8.
